Flushing the coolant from the alfa romeo 33
While the engine is cold, remove the radiator filler cap. Lossen and remove drain plugs, located on the bottom of the cylinder block, let the coolant drain completey. Once all is drained refit the drain plugs back into the cylinder block, then tighten them. Fill the cooling system back up with recommended anti-incrustator stated in the alfa romeo workshop manuals. Then remove the drain plugs again, located at the bottom of the cylinder block. Once all is drained again, flush the system with clean running water.
Refit the drain plugs and fill the coolant system up with the recommended coolant, listed in the workshop manuals. Fill it to the max level is reached in the reservoir tank, put the coolant cap back on. Start the engine and let it warm up, making the thermostat open and expel any air left in the coolant system. Let the engine cool down then remove the radiator cap and top up with more coolant. Tighten the radiator cap.
